3. Product Analytics & Reach Measurement

We use PostHog (EU-hosted, Frankfurt; eu.i.posthog.com) for product analytics, on a two-tier model:

  • Basic reach measurement (no consent required): An anonymous, cookie-free measurement of page views and visitor counts runs without consent — nothing is stored on or read from your device, so §25 TTDSG does not apply; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in privacy-minimising reach measurement).
  • Extended analysis (only after consent): Persistent cookies for cross-session insights and session replay run only after your explicit consent via the banner ("Accept"); the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with §25(1) TTDSG. "Decline" disables all analytics.

A data-processing agreement and EU hosting are in place; inputs to password fields are masked in session replay.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or providing services to you, provided that they agree to keep your information confidential.

The church map

The church map lists churches, congregations and Christian organisations. Its pages describe organisations, and we compile them from public sources: OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), Overture Maps, Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons (credited on each page), and each church's own website.

  • People named on a page. We only show pastors and leaders as the church itself names them on its own website, together with their role. We do not collect private addresses, private phone numbers or personal email addresses. Congregations that meet in a private home are shown without a street address. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in helping people find a church (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and, because a church role reveals a religious connection, the fact that the person has made this public themselves (Art. 9(2)(e) GDPR).
  • Your right to object. If you are named on a page and would rather not be, write to info@devotionfund.com and we remove your name, normally within a few days. A church can also ask us to correct or hide its page.
  • Keeping pages current. We check each church's website regularly, and we unpublish pages whose website has stopped working for a sustained period.
  • Stories, ratings and hearts. A story you publish on a church page, with the name you choose, is public and shows a connection to that church. We only publish it with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), and you can remove it at any time. Hearts are counted anonymously; we never show who gave one.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
