About St. Hedwigs-Kathedrale Berlin

St. Hedwig's is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Berlin, a domed rotunda modelled on the Pantheon and built from 1747 with the consent of Frederick the Great, then consecrated in 1773. Burnt out in 1943, it was rebuilt and reopened in 1963.

After a six-year renovation it reopened in November 2024 with the altar placed in the middle of the circular space. Mass is celebrated several times every day, and the cathedral music and Klais organ shape the liturgy.
