About Sophienkirche

Founded in 1712 under the patronage of Queen Sophie Louise and consecrated in 1713, the Sophienkirche is one of the earliest Protestant preaching halls. Its 69-metre tower from the 1730s is the last original Baroque church tower in Berlin.

The church is a centre of the parish am Weinberg, with a Sunday service that usually includes children's church, a weekly peace prayer, a strong music life (children's choirs, Kantorei, brass) and the parish's youth cellar next door.
