About Mosaik Berlin

Mosaik Berlin is an evangelical free church (evangelische Freikirche) that began in 2014, when a Berlin group that had been praying since 2009 joined with Neville and Sue Jones, sent by Emmanuel Church in Brighton (UK) to plant churches in large cities. After meeting at Café Mittelpunkt and the Forum Factory, it now gathers on Sundays in the Magazin in der Heeresbäckerei on Köpenicker Straße.

The church describes itself as a gospel-centred, mission-minded, Spirit-led church family. It holds two Sunday services, one in German and one in English, and says people from more than 65 nations belong to it. David and Jenny Schnitter have led the church since 2020.

Beyond Sunday, Mosaik runs small groups across the city, a kids programme, youth work, volunteer-trained pastoral care and a weekly newsletter. In 2024 it launched its first additional site, Mosaik Potsdam.

Your first visit

The church describes its services as lively, joyful and personal. Each has a practical sermon plus prayer and sung worship, and there is time to talk and meet people before and after. Kids aged 3 and up have their own programme. The site does not state service length or a dress code.

Kids & families

A kids programme runs during both Sunday services in Berlin, and on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in Potsdam. The Next Gen volunteer team covers Kids (3–11) and Youth (12–18). Jenny is the staff lead for Kids. 3+ (kids ministry 3–11)

Ministries & activities

  • Seelsorge (pastoral care) – Free pastoral care from trained volunteer counsellors: usually 2–4 one-hour meetings in person. It is for members, small-group participants and active volunteers, and is not a substitute for professional therapy.
  • Volunteer teams (Mitmachen) – Hospitality (welcome, setup, coffee, lunch), worship (music, sound, visuals), media (photo, video, design), prayer team and Next Gen (kids and youth).
  • Newsletter – A regular email newsletter with church news and dates.
  • Brunch services (Potsdam) – On the 2nd and 4th Sundays, the Potsdam campus holds its service as a brunch.
